Volunteer drivers arrived Sunday morning, March 25, to load 31 new greys destined for NGAP. After loading and getting on their way, the five-speed transmission on our truck lost its fifth gear and it was necessary to drive slower than normal for the remainder of the journey. Everyone that knew this was happening worried all night if the transmission would further breakdown but, the dogs, driver, and truck arrived safely at 8:45 a.m. in the pouring rain. The dogs had their first chance to run free in our long runs. Of course, the next step was to get dried off and fed. They are now still in the bathing process and most will be moved to the much larger cages.

Another successful haul for NGAP and a new life for 31 greyhounds; it would have been 32 but one of the dogs has a broken leg that was casted and we chose to give it a private suite for their trip up.
