Emily Seymour

Emily Seymour - July/August 2013

Emily's Top 5 list of things she liked about our program:
1. The staff! From Dr. Berman to Mr. Wolf to all the techs, everyone was welcoming and made me feel at home.
2. Learning from Dr. Berman: She is a truly talented teacher and had great patience with me. It was an invaluable learning experience!
3. Working with the greyhounds: I previously had minimal experience with this breed and now I can’t wait to adopt my own someday!
4. The facilities: the facilities were up-to-date and very well cared for, not to mention the fabulous kennels for the rescued greyhounds.
5. Free snacks- Mr. Wolf always had containers of delicious roasted nuts available to the hungry workers =)

I liked that the practice was a mix of a general private practice clinic in addition to caring for the rescued Greyhounds.

Jessica Yousif Jessica Yousif

Jessica Yousif - June/July 2013

Jessica's Top 5 list of things she liked about our program:
1. The amount of hands on experience
2. The supportiveness of the doctors and staff
3. The living accommodations
4. The willingness of the doctors and staff to teach
5. The high quality facilities and equipment for use

The most appealing feature about NGAP was the willingness to allow me a very hands-on experience. Unfortunately, that can be extremely difficult to find in many other externships and I believe it is a requirement to even make the externship an option. One of the other appealing aspects was the posting on the AVMA site. It was very clear and concise and provided great information. On the same note, when I visited the website it was very easy to navigate and allowed me get a great sense of the practice as well as the adoption program. In addition the quick responses to any questions or concerns were also great.

I feel that my expectations were definitely met. I was extremely happy with the amount of hands on experience that I was given as well as the instruction. The facilities are above par in every aspect and very well equipped. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I was extremely pleased with this experience and would definitely recommend it to others.
