A Message from Greyhound Rapid Transit
Greyhound Rapid Transit is an informal group of greyhound folks who help transport greyhounds from tracks or kennels to their final destination with a greyhound adoption group. More and more groups above the Mason-Dixon line find it challenging to get dogs transported all the way to their state. We move many of our dogs from Fredericksburg, VA, north to Pennsylvania, New Jersey or New York. Some dogs travel east from Ohio or West Virginia through Pennsylvania to their forever homes.
Each leg of our trips is about 70-90 miles, so usually not more than a one or two hour drive. We notify you when drivers are needed and you can volunteer or not. Up to you.
If you live in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey or New York, and you might be willing to meet and transport some wonderful greyhounds on their way to a forever home, please send me your email address and we will add you to our list of drivers. I can answer any questions you may have. Our next trip is January 26 starting in Fredericksburg, VA, and heading north.
